Fresh and Local Produce Every Week

The Redding area, with its record-breaking number of sunny days throughout the year, offers a plethora of fresh, local food choices. The abundance starts with a number of local Certified Farmers’ Markets selling produce most days of the week. This month, you can also experience some of the fabulous offerings of local restaurants at the Taste of Redding.

2021 Certified Farmers’ Markets in the Redding Area

All of the markets listed below have been certified by the Agricultural Commissioner. Venders sell only their own vegetables and fruits directly to consumers.  Please note that pets are not allowed at these markets unless it is a service animal.  EBT is accepted at all locations.

Saturday Redding Market

  • Runs from April 3rd to December 11th from 7:30 a.m. to noon
  • Location: Redding City Hall, 777 Cypress Avenue

Sunday Market by the Sundial Bridge

  • Runs from June 6th through October 10th from 8:00 a.m. to noon
  • Location: 844 Sundial Bridge Drive

Tuesday Marilyn Miller Market

  • Runs from June 8th through October 12th from 7:30 a.m. to noon
  • Location: Shasta Center, 1700 Churn Creek Road

Wednesday Burney Market

  • Runs from June 9th through September 29th from 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.
  • Location: The parking lot at  Burney Sporting Goods, 37427 Hwy 299 East in Burney

Thursday Anderson Market

  • Runs from June 3rd to September 23rd from 7:30 a.m. to noon
  • Location: Shasta Gateway Shopping Center, 1699 Highway 273 in Anderson

Anyone interested in becoming a vendor at one of the certified markets should visit the website of the Shasta Growers Association, or call them at (530) 226-7100.

The Taste of Redding

Coming up soon is this annual showcase for restaurants throughout the Redding area. The Taste of Redding is scheduled for September 12, 2021, at the Redding Sculpture Park at City Hall. The 14th annual event will run from noon to 4:00 p.m. and will showcase a number of Redding restaurants. There will be live music and plenty of beverages to sample as well. The event is presented by Dignity Health and the Rotary Club of Redding West.  Every year this event sells out, offering more than 1500 tickets, so get yours while they are still available!

Tickets are on sale now and the prices are as follows:

  • $40 for food sampling
  • $50 for food, beer, and wine sampling
  • $30 youth tickets

Beverages offered will include wines, beers, ciders, as well as plenty of non-alcoholic drinks.

Local Bands at the Taste of Redding

There are three areas within the venue where live music can be enjoyed. The bands playing this year are:

  • Bartosh
  • Refugia
  • The Stone Hearts
  • Soul Punch

Proceeds from the Taste of Redding go to The Rotary Club of Redding West, a non-profit organization that supports local community events, local high schools, and improvement projects throughout the region. Come support a good cause, while enjoying tasty treats and visiting with your friends and neighbors!
