Lodi Interstate 5 Fatal Pedestrian Accident
I’m Ed Smith, a Lodi personal injury lawyer. A man was struck by several vehicles while attempting to walk across Interstate 5 in Lodi during the evening hours of Thursday, February 2, 2017. Sadly, the man did not survive due to the fatal extent of his injuries.
What Happened?
A man was traveling in his 2006 Dodge van when his vehicle became disabled along the southbound side of Interstate 5. For reasons that are not known, the man attempted to walk across the freeway. While the man was crossing the northbound lanes, he was struck by the following vehicles listed in sequential order: a 2015 Hyundai, a 2003 Chevy, a Chrysler, a 2013 Mazda and another vehicle.
Man Passes Away
When officers from the California Highway Patrol (CHP) and medical personnel arrived at the scene of the pedestrian accident, they found that the man passed away at the scene due to the grave nature of his injuries. The man was later identified as 52-year-old Christopher Freitas, of Sacramento.
What Caused the Pedestrian Accident?
The cause of the pedestrian accident has not been released by authorities. CHP officers stated that none of the motorists that struck the man appeared to be under the influence of drugs or alcohol.
