Sunrise Boulevard Intersection Major Injury Occurs Involving Solo-Vehicle

A major injury was reported in Fair Oaks at a local intersection on November 27. The solo-vehicle collision, according to the California Highway Patrol (CHP) incident report, occurred at around 9:00 a.m. at the intersection of Sunrise Boulevard and Winding Way. For unknown reasons, the driver’s vehicle became involved in a crash at the intersection and caught on fire as a result.

Injured Party Transported to Hospital for Treatment

Firefighters with Sac Metro Fire arrived and put the fire out. A tow truck was called to remove the vehicle. Upon assessment by medics, one patient was determined to have suffered a major injury and was transported to a hospital. An investigation into the cause of the major injury accident is being conducted by the CHP.

Outside Causes of a Major Injury Accident Involving a Single-Vehicle

Although many single-vehicle crashes that result in a major injury are because the driver made an error, other outside influences can also cause an accident. Some of these causes include:

  • Poorly maintained roadway: A government entity is always in charge of roadway maintenance, which includes the design, upkeep, lighting, and other features. If the roadway isn’t safe for drivers and others such as pedestrians and bicyclists, accidents can occur. Some of the most common types of government neglect include potholes, poor lighting, untrimmed shrubs and trees, missing signage, and too narrow lanes. When roadway maintenance or other problems lead to a major injury accident, the government entity in charge can be held responsible. An injury lawyer can help by ensuring that the paperwork is filed in time because if the statute of limitations passes, the court will refuse to hear the case.
  • Defect in the car: When defective brakes, tires, steering column, accelerator, or another mechanical part of a car isn’t operating properly, it can lead to an accident resulting in a major injury. When a tire blows out, the brakes or accelerator fail, or the steering wheel won’t turn can cause a serious collision. Because mechanical failure can be involved in a major injury accident, it is important to keep the vehicle instead of sending it to be destroyed. An auto product liability claim may be placed against the manufacturer and others in the production line with the help of an injury lawyer.
  • Hit-and-run drivers: A driver who flees the scene of an accident for whatever reason, can cause a collision that seems as though it involves only one vehicle. In some cases, it might be an aggressive driver. In others, the driver might be unlicensed or uninsured. An injury lawyer can investigate a single-vehicle crash to determine if another driver was present and caused it. By pursuing this person, the injured party can place a claim to recover compensation.
