Three-Vehicle Accident Along Auburn Boulevard

A major injury occurred in Sacramento on March 4 in a collision between three vehicles in front of the Foothill Skate Inn along Auburn Boulevard. It was reported by the California Highway Patrol (CHP) that the collision occurred at about 2:19 in the afternoon between a Ford Fiesta, Buick Lacrosse, and a Ford F150 pickup. The accident blocked all the northbound lanes along Auburn Boulevard. Emergency responders with the Sacramento Fire Department determined that one person suffered a major injury in the collision and transported that individual to a nearby hospital. Help was also called for a dog riding in the pickup that was injured in the crash. The pickup truck sustained major front end damage, while one of the other vehicles had damage to its rear end. Officers at the scene did not state whether they believed alcohol or drug use contributed to the collision.

Multiple Vehicle Crashes

When a major injury is suffered in a multiple-vehicle crash, it is important to determine fault so the injured person can collect fair compensation. However, those at fault will certainly enlist legal representation to avoid being charged. This is why it is so important for a person who suffers an injury in an accident to get help from an experienced lawyer. Medical bills can mount, and finances suffer when the injured person can’t work. A major injury can include:

  • Traumatic brain injuries: Injuries of this type are common in traffic collisions. A major injury can range from a concussion to brain hemorrhage or hematoma, which can have long-term consequences.
  • Spinal cord damage: Damage to the spinal cord is an injury that can cause partial or complete paralysis.
  • Back injuries: Back injuries can range from tendon and muscle damage to a fractured vertebra or herniated disc. It can be a major injury when the patient is no longer able to function as before and suffers constant pain.
  • Abdominal injuries: Damage to an organ such as the spleen is a common major injury caused by a traffic collision. Internal bleeding or organ damage often requires emergency surgery and can be life-threatening.

Investigating a Personal Injury

An experienced lawyer goes to work to prove how an accident occurred and that negligence was the cause. This lets the injured person place a claim for compensation to pay for their lost work time, medical costs, and pain and suffering. We send our investigators to collect evidence to support your claim right away. They perform accident reconstruction, which indicates how the collision occurred and look for traffic and business surveillance cameras that might have caught it on tape. The investigators look over the police report for errors and interview the witnesses. When all the evidence has been compiled, it is given over to our lawyers to build a strong case against the at-fault party. It is used in negotiating on your behalf with the insurance company or building a case for court.
