Semis Involved in Major Traffic Collision on West Side Freeway
Two semis were involved in a major traffic collision near Willows on August 24 that resulted in a significant injury. The crash happened along southbound Interstate 5 between County Roads 33 and 35 shortly after 3:09 p.m. It occurred about 30 minutes after a previous big rig crash that resulted in a fatality.
One Semi Rear-Ends Another in Major Traffic Collision
The accident report by the California Highway Patrol (CHP) said that in this collision, one semi rear-ended another tractor-trailer. The big rig that was rear-ended was hauling an empty propane tanker, which was emitting vapor. A tow truck was called to handle this truck because of the danger.
Injured Trucker Transported to Hospital By Air Ambulance
An air ambulance was called to the scene to transport one person with major injuries to the hospital. Officers from the Orland Police Department were also at the site of the accident to help out. The investigation into the accident’s cause is being conducted by the CHP traffic collision unit.
