Motorcyclist Injured When Attempting to Pass Another Vehicle
A serious motorcycle injury was reported close to Lake Berryessa in Sonoma County on April 12 after the rider collided with a truck. The accident happened along Highway 128 close to the border with Solano County and the Lake Berryessa dam around 8:25 a.m. The injured rider, identified by the California Highway Patrol (CHP) in a news release, was 61-year-old Robert Hoffman, a resident of Rohnert Park. Hoffman was attempting to pass a vehicle when his motorcycle crashed head-on with a Ford F-550 work truck.
Motorcyclist Hospitalized Following Head-on Collision
Hoffman was transported to Kaiser Permanente Vacaville Medical Center for additional evaluation and treatment of his injuries as a result of the crash. The driver of the pickup, a Santa Rosa man, age 38, was uninjured in the collision. This was the second motorcycle crash in Napa County in four days. Two people riding a Harley-Davidson on March 9 were both seriously injured in a collision along Highway 19 near Calistoga when they were involved in a crash with a pickup.
