Dealing With a Sudden Pedestrian Death
Families are often overwhelmed with grief when a loved one is killed while out for a walk. No one is ever ready for a death in the family, but an unexpected loss is especially hard to deal with. There are ways to help the family through this challenging time:
- Let them know you are there for them.
- Be specific and ask which groceries they may need at the store or if they need prescription medicine refilled.
- Offer to take young children to the park or school, and ask if you can take the dog for a walk.
- Offer to take them to the funeral parlor to decide on end-of-life details.
- Sit down and talk to the grieving family members. They need your presence now more than ever.
- Remember, everyone grieves in their own way.

How an Attorney Can Help in a Pedestrian Fatality
At our firm, we empathize with the grief you are suffering. In an accident due to negligence, many families want answers to why their loved one died. They also want justice from an at-fault party. Filing a wrongful death claim can put the negligent party on notice that their actions have consequences. It can also help the family with funeral expenses and household bills when the deceased’s support is no longer there. We examine the crash site to prove negligence, speak to witnesses, and use accident reconstruction techniques when the deceased can no longer speak for themselves. Our investigators also obtain traffic camera video footage to get a picture of the accident as it happened. Once all information is amassed, the investigative team turns the data over to our lawyers who use it in constructing a strong wrongful death case.
