Rancho Tehama Man Dies During Red Bluff Area Car Crash
One person sadly lost his life in a Red Bluff area car crash that happened on Wednesday, June 24, 2020. The Tehama County Sheriff’s Office is currently withholding the decedent’s identity but did state that he was a 24-year-old resident of the small town of Rancho Tehama. Additionally, one other person suffered serious injuries during the accident. The injured party was identified only as a 21-year-old resident of Glendale, Arizona.
Crash Details
California Highway Patrol (CHP) indicated that this crash happened at around 1:00 a.m. on Gyle Road in rural Tehama County. The Rancho Tehama man was driving a black 1989 Toyota pickup truck heading west on Gyle just past the intersection of Paskenta Road. As the truck approached a curve in the road, the driver reportedly lost control of the vehicle and drifted onto the roadway’s northern shoulder.
After driving off-road, the driver apparently attempted to correct course and made a sharp turn to the left. As a result, the pickup drove over all traffic lanes, drove off the southern edge of the road and crashed in a nearby field.
Response
Responders were sent to the scene right after CHP was notified. When they arrived, emergency officials found both occupants of the vehicle had been ejected during the accident. The passenger was reportedly alert and walking, but was still airlifted to the Mercy Medical Center in Redding for medical care. Tragically, the driver was pronounced deceased on-scene.
Investigation
Red Bluff CHP has stated that they are investigating what could have caused this crash and have not reported any likely causes. Furthermore, officers have asked for public assistance with their investigation. Anybody with information about this accident is asked to get in touch with Red Bluff CHP at (530) 527-2034.
Single-vehicle car accidents are very common and can be caused by a number of dangerous factors, including things that drivers have no ability to control. These non-driver collision factors can be things like defective pavement, poor roadway lighting, malfunctioning car parts, and more.
Additionally, police are not always able to uncover all of the evidence in a car accident, especially if they cannot ask the involved driver what happened. The best way to be sure that the accident receives a thorough and fair investigation is to reach out to an attorney who has experience privately investigating fatal accidents.
