Upcoming Redding Community Events
Redding has plenty to offer its community members. Not only are locals just minutes away from beautiful natural scenery, fishing areas, and hiking trails, but there’s also plenty of great events going on in town. As the largest Californian city north of Sacramento, Redding boasts a vibrant community with plenty to do for everybody. Some of the great Redding community events coming up over the next couple of weeks are detailed below.
Theater and Dinner Night – Oedipus Tyrannus
When: Thursday, January 23 at 5:00 p.m.
Where: Axiom Reps Theater
Fans of the classics and great food will be happy to hear that Redding Theater Goers Group is hosting a dinner and theater night. The event will begin with dinner at Guadalajara Mexican Restaurant. After dinner, the group will travel to the nearby theater to watch a performance of Sophocles’ famous ancient tragedy, Oedipus Tyrannus.
Redding Cultural Cruise
When: Friday, January 31 at 12:00 p.m.
Where: Various Places in Redding
The Shasta Arts Council is hosting its annual “Redding Cultural Cruise,” which will highlight exhibits at local museums, art galleries, and historical sites. The cruise is free for all to attend, but those who wish can buy tickets to join a luxury tour bus that will be visiting some or all of the participating venues. Bus tickets include free wine as well as raffle tickets. Stops on the cruise will include the North Valley Art League, the Shasta Historical Society, Eaton House, Redding City Hall, California Street Labs, Turtle Bay Exploration Park, and more.

Black and White Ball 2020
When: January 25 at 6:00 p.m.
Where: Win-River Resort and Casino
The Shasta Association of Realtors is putting on the Annual Black and White Ball. Those looking to enjoy a fancy evening and celebrate the beginning of the year in style will enjoy this upscale event. The ball will include a sit-down dinner and dancing as well as live and silent auctions and a photo booth.
Chocolate After Dark
When: Friday, February 7, 2020
Where: Turtle Bay Exploration Park
With the support of Redding Rancheria, Turtle Bay is hosting an event for lovers of chocolate, wine, and treasure. The event will feature delicious drinks and eats from local businesses as well as an exclusive first look at Turtle Bay’s upcoming exhibit, Treasure and Jon Schueler: Lost Man Blues. Featured vendors will include Churn Creek Cellars, Lassen Traditional Cidery, The Hive Kitchen, Pumpkinland Chocolate Company, Tantardini’s European Bakery, Mosely Family Cellars, and more.
