How an Injury Lawyer Helps You Recover Compensation
An injury lawyer can conduct their own investigation to try and locate the motorist when the Sacramento driver left the accident scene. Investigation can include checking surveillance videos, performing accident reconstruction, interviewing witnesses, etc. Because our law office has the experience and resources to do so, we have successfully gathered evidence associated with fleeing driver accidents in several cases.
When a positive identification has been made of the driver, our lawyers can hold them responsible for the injuries. We can use the gathered evidence to negotiate with the at-fault driver’s insurance company to reach a successful outcome. If there are problems with the insurance company and it refuses to negotiate or denies the claim, the lawyer takes the case to civil court to reach a positive resolution.
Recovering Compensation When the Driver Hasn’t Been Located
If someone suffers injuries in a traffic accident and the driver cannot be found, they can use their uninsured and underinsured motorist coverage to get compensation. Although not required, many Californians have taken this additional policy as a safety net. If the injured party does not carry the uninsured/underinsured policy and a family member has one, that can be used to cover injuries.
