Vehicle Jumps Curb at Cottage Way Intersection
A hit-and-run crash involving injuries occurred in Sacramento on August 6 when a vehicle jumped a curb. The accident happened at the intersection of Cottage Way and Morse Avenue in the Arden-Arcade area around 6:42 pm. Officers with the California Highway Patrol (CHP) reported that a vehicle jumped a curb at the intersection and struck at least one person sitting at a bus stop, causing injuries. The CHP is carrying out an investigation to determine what happened and are seeking the hit-and-run driver.
Curb Jumping as a Cause of an Accident
Although most pedestrian accidents occur at intersections or on the street, sometimes they happen if a vehicle goes out of control and jumps a curb. There are a number of reasons this type of accident can occur, including the following:
- Negligence by the motorist can lead to this type of accident. In most cases, the driver is speeding, distracted by texting or some other type of error. When the cause of the accident has been determined and driver negligence found, the injured pedestrian may place a compensation claim.
