The Sacramento Fire Department received reports of injuries and sent an ambulance rolling. Authorities did not provide further information about the injuries. Two vehicles remained drivable and relocated to a nearby parking lot. The roadway was clear shortly after 3:00 p.m. The CHP traffic collision unit will investigate the fault and how the accident happened.
Finding Fault in a Sacramento Major Trauma Crash
Finding which driver/drivers displayed negligence is challenging when multiple vehicles are involved in a collision. For example, one driver may have been speeding while another was distracted by their cell phone. In addition, some drivers do not want to take responsibility if they cause a collision because it could affect their insurance rates in the future, especially if injuries are involved. An accident lawyer’s job is to find the evidence that upholds their client’s injury claim so they can recover fair compensation.
How a Lawyer Finds the Evidence that Supports an Injury Accident Claim
After reviewing the case to determine that negligence by another driver was involved, the attorney sends investigators to collect the evidence to support the client’s injury claim. The collection of evidence often involves the following in a Sacramento major trauma accident:
- The investigators go to the collision site to collect physical evidence and take photos. They also examine the area for any sign of road maintenance negligence. The government entity charged with maintenance can be held liable for negligence. Because you have only six months to file a claim, consider getting help from an accident lawyer.
- Investigators examine the police report for errors and interview witnesses. Errors in the police report make it a problem to file a compensation claim. Witnesses can provide corroborating statements on how the crash happened and may have even filmed the accident on their cell phones as it occurred.
- They examine the surrounding area for surveillance cameras from traffic lights, homes, and businesses, which captured the Sacramento major trauma accident on tape. The lawyer can subpoena those records to uphold your injury claim.
- Performing accident reconstruction provides valuable information on how the vehicles were positioned and often points toward fault.
The lawyer uses the gathered evidence to build a robust case supporting the client’s compensation claim and to negotiate with the insurance companies of the at-fault parties. If the insurance company will not pay what the injured party deserves or refuses to negotiate, the lawyer will take the case to civil court.
