Woman Drives Her Dog for a Walk
April is National Distracted Driving Awareness Month. Just when I thought I’d heard it all, another version of distracted driving comes.
What Happened?
Apparently, a dog owner in Stockton decided to “drive her dog for a walk” instead of taking her dog on a traditional walk. Recently, a concerned citizen observed a female motorist on the streets of Stockton driving her pooch for a walk. The dog was on a rope and was running beside the woman’s car as she drove down the street. The woman driving her dog for a walk did not think her behavior was unusual. Apparently, she was simply getting the dog out for a walk. The concerned citizen was outraged and posted the incident on social media. Residents in the Stockton community expressed similar negative feedback for what they viewed as terrible behavior for a loving pet owner.
Was the Woman Charged With an Offense?
Stockton Police Department said that they did not obtain any evidence suggesting animal cruelty on behalf of the pet owner. Police indicated that if they were to have witnessed the incident, the pet owner may have been given a citation for distracted driving.
Thankfully, the woman driving her dog for a walk did not run into any pedestrians, bicyclists, or other motorists in her attempt to give Fido his daily walk.
