Getting Help Following A Wrongful Death
A wrongful death occurs when a negligent person or entity is responsible for someone else’s demise. When this occurs, the deceased person’s family can file a claim with the help of a Stockton wrongful death attorney. My legal team and I have assisted many Stockton residents in obtaining compensation, which gives them a sense of justice after losing their loved one and helps relieve the financial stress.
Causes of Intersection Collisions
Intersections are among the most dangerous areas for motorists. Around 40 percent of all accidents occur in them. Most intersection accidents can be attributed to driver negligence, including the following:
- Drunk driving: When drunk drivers are on the road, they exhibit lowered reflexes, poor judgment, and the inability to handle a vehicle. When approaching an intersection under the influence, the driver might not notice the red traffic light.
- Distracted driving: A driver texting or talking on a cell phone has their eyes off the road and concentrates on something other than driving. Distracted driving is now the number one cause of accidents.
- Fatigued driving: A motorist who is too tired can be compared to a drunk driver in their ability to react in an emergency situation. In addition, a fatigued driver can fall asleep at the wheel, endangering others.
- Traffic infractions: Speeding, tailgating, running red lights, and other traffic infractions are common causes of intersection collisions.
Collecting Evidence to Support an Injury Claim
Those who are injured in a traffic accident often suffer serious harm. When a negligent driver was the cause of their injuries, they may place a compensation claim. A personal injury claim allows them to recover the cost of all their medical expenses and time they’ve lost from being unable to work. It reimburses them for their physical and emotional pain and suffering.
Investigation of a Drunk Driver Accident
Investigation of an accident involving a drunk driver is performed like other types of negligence. The aim is to discover what negligent action caused the accident so the at-fault driver can be held responsible. Evidence is gathered in the following areas, including others:
- Surveillance cameras are examined to see if they captured the accident on video.
- The police report is checked for mistakes.
- The investigators talked to all the witnesses to find corroborating accounts of the collision. Sometimes, one of the witnesses taped the accident on their phone.
- Accident reconstruction is conducted widely used in court and by insurance companies.
