Three Injured After Crash in East Central Fresno
Three people were injured after an auto crash in east central Fresno on the afternoon of July 4, 2020. The car accident occurred around 2:30 p.m. at the intersection of Maple Avenue and Clinton Avenue. A driver of a Ford Fusion was traveling northbound on Maple Avenue in the No. 1 lane. At the same time, a Cadillac was headed eastbound on Clinton Avenue in the No. 2 lane. Witnesses told officers from the Fresno Police Department (Fresno PD) that the Cadillac reportedly ran a red light at the intersection and broadsided the Ford. The impact propelled the Ford into a black truck traveling on Maple Avenue. The driver of the Ford, a woman in her early 20s, was transported to a local hospital for treatment of serious injuries. Police later said she was listed in stable condition. The two parties of the pickup truck were also taken to the hospital with injuries described as moderate. An investigation into the motor vehicle accident is ongoing by the Fresno PD.
