What Happened?
A resident of Tracy, identified as 21-year-old Lewis Casey, was riding his motorcycle. As he approached the intersection of Lincoln Boulevard and 11th Street in Tracy, he was struck by a tan or gold GMC Yukon. Sadly, Casey passed away due to the severe nature of his injuries.
We extend our condolences to the family members of the man who passed away in this tragic accident.
Hit and Run Driver
The driver behind the wheel of the GMC Yukon was identified as 31-year-old Liset Palafox. The Yukon was reported as having major damage to the driver’s side of the vehicle. It may be missing the driver’s side tail lamp. The vehicle may have had paper plates that were dark in color with a light-colored font. Officials from the Tracy Police Department have issued a warrant for Palafox’s arrest.
Hit-and-Run Accidents
A hit-and-run accident is defined as an automobile accident involving another vehicle, pedestrian or object where the motorist flees the scene without offering assistance or identifying him or herself. Review the following tips on what to do after you have been involved in a hit-and-run accident:
- Obtain as much information as possible. Try to recall all details of the collsion. It helps increase the chances that authorities will find the hit and run driver that crashed into you. This information will also help your auto insurance company with making decisions about your claim.
- Having information in hand such as make and model of the suspect vehicle as well as its license plate number is crucial in identifying the car that drove away from the scene.
