Two Dead After Alleged Turlock DUI

On Thursday, October 24, 2019, California Highway Patrol (CHP) authorities reported that an alleged Turlock DUI left two people with fatal injuries. The collision involved two vehicles and happened during the early morning and left one additional person with major injuries. The fatally injured driver has been identified as a 41-year-old woman. However, both she and her passenger’s identities are being withheld by county authorities at this time. Police have reportedly arrested the other driver on felony charges of driving under the influence as well as vehicular manslaughter. CHP reports that this collision is currently under investigation.

Crash Details

Reports indicate that the accident happened on Santa Fe Drive, a short distance east of the intersection located at East Avenue. A 43-year-old Sacramento man had been driving west on Santa Fe in a 2004 Ford Crown Victoria while the 41-year-old woman was driving east on the same road in a 2004 Chevy Venture. For reasons that are currently not known, the Ford driver drifted over the median and into eastbound lanes. Shortly after crossing into oncoming traffic, the Ford crashed head-on into the eastbound Chevy.

Emergency responders reaching the accident site found that all three occupants of the Chevy had been severely injured. Tragically, both the driver and front-seat passenger lost their lives before they could be given treatment. The third occupant of the vehicle was transported by ambulance to a nearby hospital for immediate medical care. Updates on the passenger’s condition have not been released so far. The alleged DUI driver was not reported to have suffered any injuries as a result of the crash.

Coping with Wrongful Death

Learning that your loved one has suddenly passed away is often devastating. Families can be left feeling suddenly overwhelmed by complicated, intense emotions. In other cases, people feel numb and have a hard time interacting while processing their grief. These reactions are normal and completely understandable and it is important to focus on healing emotionally after such a tragic event has affected your family.

However, liable parties usually don’t have to deal with these emotions and get started defending themselves from liability as soon as they can. For this reason, it’s critical to get in touch with a wrongful death lawyer at the earliest possibility. Your attorney will be able to begin conducting an investigation into the accident right away and will be invaluable while negotiating with insurers and, possibly, presenting your case in court so that your family can claim the compensation they deserve.

How Can I Find a Trustworthy Lawyer?

One of the main things that prevent people from seeking the legal help they need is that they are unsure of how to find a lawyer they can trust with such an important case. After suffering the loss of a loved one, it’s important that you have a compassionate, skillful, and experienced attorney to represent you and your family. Fortunately, there are a few easy ways to make sure a lawyer is trustworthy. Watch this video to find out more:
