Driver Dies in Vehicle Rollover
The driver suffered fatal injuries as a result of the vehicle rollover. Officers reported the driver was speeding and they believe that drugs or alcohol might have been involved. The deceased’s identity has not yet been released by the County Coroner’s Office. Anyone with knowledge of the accident is asked to call (530) 662-4685, which is the Woodland area office of the CHP. The CHP traffic collision detail is conducting an investigation as well.
Recovering Damages in a Wrongful Death Claim
Grieving family members are also angry and confused when a loved one is killed in an accident that was preventable such as a vehicle rollover. Those who have suffered a loss also realize they may have financial difficulties as a result. They can grieve in peace knowing that the at-fault individual is being held accountable for the death of their loved one and even obtain a sense of justice by filing a wrongful death claim.
West Sacramento wrongful death lawyers can help the family by investigating the case and obtaining evidence to support their claim. In order to file a wrongful death claim, the family must prove negligence by the motorist or other entity. Our investigators gather the evidence to support a client’s injury or fatality claim by doing the following:
- The first thing our investigators do is to go to the site of the accident to take photos and gather any evidence they come across.
- The area is canvassed for surveillance cameras that may have caught the accident on tape as it happened.
- The accident report filed by the responding police is reviewed to ensure it has no errors.
- The investigators interview any witnesses to the collision, which can provide valuable information.
- By having accident reconstruction performed, it can be demonstrated the positioning of vehicles and how the collision occurred.
When all the evidence that supports the wrongful death or personal injury claim has been gathered, our injury lawyers take over to construct a strong case. This evidence can be used either in negotiating with the negligent party’s insurance company or in civil court if negotiations with the insurer are unsuccessful.
