Elderly Woman Died After Being Served Dishwashing Liquid at Senior Living Home
An elderly woman has died after allegedly being served dishwashing liquid at a nursing home where she lived. Officials have identified the victim as 93-year-old Gertrude Elizabeth Maxwell. The incident happened shortly after 8:00 pm on Sunday, August 28.
Details on the Unfortunate Event
According to reports, an Atria Park Senior Living employee mistakenly served Ms. Maxwell and two other residents dishwashing liquid instead of fruit juice. All three were sent to the hospital for evaluation and treatment, but sadly, Ms. Maxwell later died. The other two people are in critical condition.
Staff at the senior home said the employees involved in the incident have been suspended until the investigation ends, and the facility is cooperating with authorities.
