Woman Suffers Fatal Trauma in Madera Auto Accident
On Friday, November 20, 2020, one person tragically lost her life during a Madera auto accident. The California Highway Patrol (CHP) said that the collision occurred just after midnight and involved several vehicles. Madera County officials have only identified the decedent as a 25-year-old woman and are still withholding her name pending family notification. According to police, other individuals suffered injuries as a result of this accident.
Crash Information
The collision occurred on Highway 99 near Avenue 7, just north of the small community of Herndon in Madera County. The 25-year-old woman had been driving a grey Chevrolet sedan when, for unknown reasons, her vehicle reportedly veered left and crossed over the highway median. After entering oncoming traffic lanes, the Chevrolet allegedly entered the path of a Nissan, and the two vehicles crashed into each other head-on.
As a result of the initial crash, five separate vehicles eventually became involved in the collision, blocking several lanes of the highway. According to police, one of the involved vehicles was a big-rig.
Investigation
CHP has stated that they are actively conducting a full-scale investigation into what could have caused this accident. At the time of reporting, no suspected factors had been confirmed by investigating officers. Motor vehicle wrecks like this one are often complicated events and may involve non-driver factors like unsafe road conditions or malfunctioning car parts.
Furthermore, the process of investigating fatal collisions can be a difficult job for the police. Without being able to ask the decedent about what took place, it can be very hard to fully understand what caused the crash. Unfortunately, this can lead to police leaving important evidence unnoticed.
The best way to ensure a fatal accident is investigated to its fullest possible extent is to call an experienced Madera wrongful death lawyer. By privately investigating the crash, families can ensure that their rights are prioritized during investigations.
Getting Help
The grief that families experience following deadly car accidents can be immense, and, in many cases, people feel totally overwhelmed. During such a difficult time, it’s important to focus on being with your loved ones and doing what you can to cope with your grief. However, financial issues caused by fatal car accidents can make it impossible for grieving individuals to focus on emotional healing.
In many cases, a fatal crash will leave families without an important source of income or access to valuable services like cleaning or childcare. Furthermore, families can be shocked when they learn how expensive funeral and burial services are. Fortunately, it’s often possible to obtain compensation for all of these damages by working with an attorney and filing a wrongful death claim.
In many cases, families are able to hold at-fault parties and/or insurance companies responsible for financial losses as well as damages related to personal suffering. These payments can provide families the financial security they need during an especially difficult time.
