Fatality Reported in Placer County Rollover Collision on Baseline Road

A Placer County rollover collision between two vehicles occurred recently that resulted in a fatality. The accident was reported along Baseline Road close to South Brewer Road around 1:00 p.m., according to the California Highway Patrol (CHP). Authorities believe a Volvo SC90 driver had slowed to make a left turn into a driveway. Other vehicles slowed behind his vehicle and stopped.

Placer County Rollover Involves Wrong-Way Driver

That moment was when a Nissan Rogue driver approached the vehicles at high speed, crossed the centerline, and entered the opposing lane. The Volvo was struck by the Nissan and then left the road and rolled several times. The Nissan driver was not using a seat restraint and was ejected and died. The Volvo driver did not suffer any injuries in the crash. The driver who died was identified as a Rocklin man, age 23. An investigation by the CHP traffic collision unit will determine fault.

Wrongful Death Claim After an Accident Caused by Negligence

When a loved one dies in a Placer County rollover accident due to a negligent driver or other entity, the family may seek compensation by filing a wrongful death claim. Typically, the surviving spouse and children of the deceased are the first in line to file. The parents and siblings may file a claim if the deceased had no spouse or children. Although California law allows two years to file a wrongful death claim, it’s advisable to contact a lawyer soon after the incident. This urgency is due to evidence potentially disappearing or being altered and witnesses becoming difficult to locate.

How an Injury Lawyer Can Assist With Your Claim

After a fatal Placer County rollover accident, the at-fault party’s insurance company usually handles the settlement. However, negotiating on your own may result in insufficient coverage for all your losses. The primary goal of the insurance industry is to make money, which is why obtaining legal assistance is a wise decision. With an injury lawyer, you might recover three times as much compensation as you could on your own. Our law firm offers several types of assistance:

  • Free consultations: We provide free consultations to help you understand your options, whether you have lost a loved one in an accident or seek compensation for your losses.
  • Establishing liability: Our investigators gather evidence to establish the at-fault party’s liability in the accident.
  • Calculating damages: We assess your damages, including funeral and burial costs, lost wages, and pain and suffering.
  • Guidance through the legal process: We keep you informed and explain each step of the legal process.
  • Comprehensive investigation: Our investigators interview witnesses, search surveillance footage, reconstruct accidents, and use other methods to prove your claim.

Utilizing the evidence collected by our investigators, we build a robust case for your wrongful death claim. We negotiate with the at-fault party’s insurance company on your behalf to secure a settlement. If the insurance company refuses to provide fair compensation, we are prepared to present our evidence and argue your case in civil court.
