SUV-Motorcycle Crash Injures Man on East Bidwell Street

Authorities have arrested a man on suspicion of attempted murder following an SUV-motorcycle crash in Folsom on Tuesday night. Just before 8 p.m., the Folsom Police Department received multiple calls reporting a crash at the East Bidwell intersection with Iron Point. Responding officers and emergency personnel discovered that the driver of the SUV allegedly struck the motorcyclist intentionally.

Suspect Arrested for Felony Assault in SUV-Motorcycle Crash

According to the police, the motorcyclist sustained minor injuries and a broken ankle as a result of the incident. The suspect, identified as a 23-year-old from Folsom, was arrested at the scene and charged with felony assault using a deadly weapon. He has been booked into the Sacramento County main jail and is currently ineligible for bail. The Folsom Police Department extended their gratitude to those who stopped to assist and stayed until emergency crews arrived on the scene.

Motorcycle Rider Bias

Motorcycle riders frequently encounter prejudice from both juries and insurance companies. This bias is often rooted in various misconceptions about motorcyclists. Juries may unfairly stereotype motorcyclists as reckless or inherently dangerous, leading to unjust judgments in accident cases. Similarly, insurance companies tend to perceive motorcyclists as high-risk clients, which can result in higher premiums and less favorable claim settlements compared to other vehicle operators.

Fighting Motorcyclist Prejudice

Our law firm understands the tactics insurance companies use to avoid paying accident claims after an SUV-motorcycle crash and knows how to counteract jury prejudice. With extensive experience in handling such cases, we are dedicated to ensuring that riders receive the compensation they deserve.

Claim Compensation That Can Be Recovered

  • Medical expenses: Coverage for costs related to surgical procedures, doctor visits, hospital stays, prescription medications, and other medical treatment for your injury.
  • Lost wages: Financial recovery for wages lost due to inability to work and potential future earnings beyond the settlement period.
  • Pain and suffering: Compensation for physical pain, emotional trauma, and mental anguish resulting from the accident.
  • Loss of enjoyment of life: Damages for the inability to engage in previously enjoyed activities such as hobbies or recreational pursuits due to the injury.
  • Loss of consortium: Compensation for the injured party’s spouse or partner for loss of companionship, consortium, and support.
