Two Juveniles Injuries by Reported Distracted Driver on Shasta View Drive

Redding collision injuries occurred in an accident involving a reported distracted driver on July 31. The accident happened along Shasta View Drive near Hawn Avenue at about 5:51 a.m. involving two pedestrians and a motor vehicle. Officers with the Redding Police Department, upon arriving at the scene, found two injured juveniles, one of them with major trauma, who were then transported to a hospital.

The accident involved a Redding resident, age 20, who was going north along Shasta View in his truck and became distracted. The driver’s truck left its lane and drifted onto the road’s shoulder, striking the minors. Shasta View Drive was shut down from Belladonna Street to Hartnell Avenue while an investigation into the cause of the collision was conducted.
