DUI Suspected in West Sacramento Fatal Crash on Marysville Boulevard

A West Sacramento fatal crash claimed a life and resulted in the arrest of a driver suspected of driving under the influence. The incident took place on October 12 when a vehicle hit a bicyclist near Marysville Boulevard and Main Avenue. Officers with the Sacramento Police Department were called to the scene shortly after 11:30 p.m. and found the deceased rider, a male, who was declared dead by first responders.

The driver had initially fled but was located a short distance from the scene. Police identified the driver as a West Sacramento resident, age 53, and he showed signs of intoxication. The driver was arrested on charges related to the crash. The pedestrian’s identity has not been released, and the investigation is still in progress.
