Clearlake Injury Crash Reported on Hofacker Lane
A Clearlake injury crash south of Clearlake and Lower Lake temporarily shut down State Route 29 on the evening of December 19. The California Highway Patrol (CHP) responded to reports around 5:55 p.m. of a two-vehicle collision near Hofacker Lane, where both vehicles blocked the roadway.
Clearlake Injury Crash May Have Involved Reckless Driving
According to initial investigations, the driver of a white sedan driving recklessly was involved in the Clearlake injury crash. The accident led to a road closure at 6:18 p.m. as authorities worked to clear the scene. Foggy conditions hindered air operations, preventing aerial support for the transport of the injured patients.
One Driver Detained for Possible DUI Following Collision
One individual may have been arrested and transported to Lake County Jail on suspicion of driving under the influence. One to two people were also transported to a nearby hospital with injuries. CHP traffic detectives are continuing their investigation into the incident.
