Nine People Injured in Cypress Avenue Multiple-Casualty Accident
A multiple-casualty accident happened in Carmichael on November 23 that sent nine people to the hospital, two of them in critical condition. The crash happened around 2:30 in the afternoon. It occurred near the Cypress and Walnut Avenues intersection, involving three vehicles, according to Capt. Parker Wilbourn, a spokesman for the Sacramento Metropolitan Fire District.
Investigation Underway to Determine Cause of Multiple-Casualty Accident
Although airbags were deployed because of the accident, it is unknown whether all the people inside the vehicles were using seat restraints. Two minors were injured. One was transported to Mercy San Juan Medical Center. The other was transported to UC Davis Medical Center. An investigation is being carried out by authorities to determine how the multiple-casualty accident happened.
