The Stockton Police Department reported a fatality in a cycling crash involving a hit-and-run driver on Pacific Avenue on July 18, 2023. The incident occurred shortly after 10:10 p.m. in the area of Yokuts Avenue and Pacific Avenue, officials said.

First responders at the scene declared the cyclist deceased, officials said. The deceased has recently been identified as 64-year-old Stockton resident Joaquin Carrasco Jr.
An update by Stockton PD revealed that the driver involved in the incident has recently turned themselves in.
