Driver Killed After Interstate 5 Crash in Stockton

A driver was killed after a fatal crash on Interstate 5 in the Stockton area on the early morning of Wednesday, October 14, 2020. The car accident occurred at approximately 5:00 a.m. near the Crosstown Freeway. A Subaru driver was approaching State Route 4 from southbound I-5 when they reportedly lost control and collided with the center divider, the California Highway Patrol (CHP) reported. The impact propelled the vehicle across the westbound lanes, where it struck a bridge railing. The vehicle came to a rest in the No. 3 and No. 4 lanes of the roadway. For unknown reasons, a driver of another vehicle crashed into the Subaru, causing fatal injuries to the Subaru driver at the scene. The details leading up to the fatal motor vehicle collision and the decedent’s identity were not immediately available as an investigation by the CHP is ongoing.
