Two Injured in Alleged Napa DUI Accident
On Sunday, January 12, 2020, two people suffered injuries during an alleged Napa DUI accident. California Highway Patrol (CHP) provided information stating that the crash involved two vehicles and happened just south of Napa city during the very early morning. Both injured parties were expected to recover from their trauma.
Crash Details
According to reports from CHP, the accident happened at about 1:00 a.m. at the intersection of Highways 12 and 29. An 18-year-old Napa resident was stopped at the intersection in southbound lanes of Highway 29 in a Jeep. At this time, a southbound Chevy Malibu driven by a 29-year-old man from Citrus heights approached the Jeep from behind. The Chevy reportedly failed to stop and struck the rear-end of the other vehicle.
Police at the accident scene arrested the Chevy driver on a charge of DUI causing injury. The man was booked into the Napa County jail. Details about the injuries sustained in the accident were not available, and nobody besides the two drivers suffered trauma during the incident.
Recent Napa Accidents
This accident is part of a cluster of serious crashes that have taken place over the last week. Recent incidents include a crash on Thursday, January 9, 2020, during which a Napa woman’s vehicle crashed into a creek, another alleged DUI collision on Tuesday that left a motorcyclist seriously injured, and a fatal crash that took place on Saturday morning on Silverado trail.
Accident Damages
Being injured can be difficult, and accident injuries are often severe. If you’ve been injured in a crash, it’s likely that you will have medical bills to take care of and may even need to take time away from work. On top of the stress of recovering your health, these financial concerns can feel overwhelming. However, accident survivors can file personal injury claims against insurance companies and negligent parties in order to recover payments for their financial and personal damages.
The damages that are available to crash survivors depend on the circumstances of the accident, as well as a few other factors. However, many injured parties are able to claim compensation for lost wages, property damage, medical bills, and more.
