Fairfield Woman Killed in Crash
I’m Ed Smith, a Fairfield car accident lawyer. On Friday, September 15, 2017, a woman from Fairfield was involved in a vehicle accident that resulted in fatal injuries.
Accident Details
According to information released by the California Highway Patrol (CHP), Norma Jackson, a 75-year-old woman and long-time Fairfield resident, had been driving her vehicle on the westbound side of Rockville Road at about 9:05 a.m. CHP said that Jackson had been approaching the Lozano Lane intersection when she lost control of her vehicle and drove off of the roadway.
After driving off of the road, the vehicle continued west for a short distance on the dirt shoulder on the north side of Rockville Road. Eventually, the vehicle struck several objects before coming to a stop after colliding with a large tree.
We extend our deepest condolences to Ms. Jackson’s family and loved ones during this difficult time.
Emergency Response
Witnesses of the accident immediately called for help. After receiving calls indicating that the driver of the vehicle may have been seriously injured, CHP sent first responders to the scene of the accident.
Upon arrival, responders found that Jackson had sustained fatal injuries during the collision and pronounced her dead. The specific nature of Jackson’s injuries has not been reported as of yet.
Investigation
Solano CHP is currently investigating this collision. However, officers remain uncertain about what caused Jackson to lose control of her vehicle. So far, there have been no reports indicating that authorities suspect her to have been driving under the influence. It is possible that Jackson lost control of her vehicle due to a medical emergency, a defect in her vehicle, a defect in the roadway, or other factors. If there is reason to suspect one of these issues could have contributed to the accident, it is important to contact an experienced Fairfield car accident lawyer for more information.
Call to Action
Individuals who may have seen the incident- or otherwise have information that could aid CHP in their investigation- have been asked to contact CHP’s Solano office using (707) 428-2100. Officers noted that anybody calling with helpful information would be highly appreciated.
Hit-Object Accidents in Fairfield
Hit-object accidents such as this are the third most common type of car accident to leave people with traumatic injuries in the city of Fairfield, accounting for around 13 percent of Fairfield’s injury collisions. Hit-object accidents most frequently occur when vehicles, for whatever reason, leave the roadway.
Making sure that your vehicle is in proper driving condition and paying attention to the road at all times can help you avoid being involved in accidents like these.
Wrongful Death
After the untimely death of a close friend or family member, loved ones often have a difficult road ahead. Those in mourning require time for reflection and healing and things like seeking a lawyer to help can seem miles away. However, calling a lawyer can prove vital to recovering from a loss, and calling early can prevent liable parties from making moves to obscure important evidence.
If you think that the death of your loved one may have been the result of a negligent party, calling an injury lawyer can not only ensure that you receive the full recompense that you are owed but can also ease your mind and allow you to focus on the equally important task of emotional healing.
