Fatal Head-On Crash Near Millerton Lake
A motorcyclist suffered fatal injuries, and three others were injured in a head-on crash near Millerton Lake in Fresno County on October 7, 2023. The crash occurred along Millerton Road in the vicinity of Winchell Cove Road at approximately 11:00 p.m., officials said.

A preliminary release by the California Highway Patrol indicated that a Chrysler was headed eastbound on Millerton Road. At the same time, a man, age 63, was riding a motorcycle westbound on Millerton Road. For unknown reasons, both vehicles collided head-on.
The impact of the collision allegedly propelled the motorcyclist off the bike and onto the roadway. Sadly, the motorcyclist, Fresno resident Terry Friesen, age 63, was declared deceased at the crash site.
The three occupants of the Chrysler sustained injuries described as minor. They were transported to an area hospital for treatment. Further details into the fatal head-on crash involving a motorcycle rider and a vehicle near Millerton Lake in Fresno County have not yet been released. An investigation by CHP traffic officials is ongoing.
