Fatal I-680 Crash Near Treat Boulevard
A fatal crash occurred on I-680 near Treat Boulevard in Contra Costa County on the early morning of Sunday, April 2, 2023. The incident occurred at approximately 5:35 a.m. at Alderwood Road and Treat Boulevard, close to Interstate 680 in Walnut Creek, according to the California Highway Patrol.

CHP traffic officers initially described the incident as a two-vehicle crash. However, an investigation later revealed that it was a car versus pedestrian accident.
A Nissan van driver pulled over along the side of the roadway, exited, and stood behind their vehicle. The Nissan driver was allegedly struck and killed by a Honda Accord.
Officials recently identified the decedent as 34-year-old Concord resident Sergio Quilici. Additional information on the fatal crash was unavailable due to an ongoing investigation.
