Fatal Motorcycle Accident on Avenue 12
On Friday, September 16, 2022, the California Highway Patrol reported a fatal motorcycle crash on Avenue 12 in Madera County. The incident occurred at approximately 7:10 p.m. near Road 33 and involved a 2005 Nissan Altima and a 2001 Harley Davidson motorcycle.

Officials indicated in a preliminary report that a 47-year-old man from Fresno was riding the Harley Davidson motorcycle westbound on Avenue 12. At the same time, a 42-year-old man from El Sobrante was driving a Nissan eastbound on Avenue 12. Investigators reported that the Nissan allegedly traveled into the westbound lane and collided head-on with the motorcyclist.
CHP traffic officers said that both parties tried to avoid an accident by veering off the road toward the south side. Unfortunately, their efforts were unsuccessful, and both vehicles collided head-on.
The driver and passenger in the Nissan, a woman and two children, received treatment for minor injuries. Sadly, the motorcycle rider was declared deceased at the scene. The fatal incident remains under investigation by the California Highway Patrol. Additional information was not immediately available.
