Antioch Crash Kills Oakley Man
A man tragically lost his life during a crash that took place in Antioch on Wednesday, March 25, 2020. The Antioch Police Department (APD) reported that the accident occurred at night on a local highway offramp and involved two vehicles. The decedent has been identified as a 52-year-old Oakley man. However, his name has not been released. Additionally, an 18-year-old Antioch man was hospitalized for non-life threatening injuries.
Crash Information
The crash happened at 9:45 p.m. at the intersection of Contra Loma Boulevard and the offramp of eastbound Highway 4. APD reported that the Oakley man had exited Highway 4 and entered the intersection at Contra Loma where his vehicle struck the broad side of the 18-year-old’s car.
After receiving notification about the incident, APD dispatched a team of emergency responders to the collision scene. Upon arrival, officers discovered that the Oakley man had suffered very severe injuries. Tragically, the man lost his life on-scene. The teenager was placed on an ambulance and transported to a local hospital. Updates on his condition have not been made available.
Investigation
An official investigation into the accident is currently being conducted by officers of APD.
