Antioch Crash Leaves Minor in Critical Condition
Firefighters from the Contra Costa County department were dispatched to Hillcrest Avenue in Antioch on Friday, April 5, where a car vs. pedestrian accident took place. The crash happened shortly before 9:15 p.m. on Hillcrest Avenue, near Wildflower Drive. Soon upon arrival, Engine 88 reported that two pocket bikes and two cars were involved in the accident. According to the firefighters, a minor sustained serious injuries. The 16-year-old minor was transported to a nearby medical center to receive treatment for his injuries. No update on his condition was immediately available.

It’s not clear what caused the four-vehicle collision, but officers have reason to believe that those on the two pocket bikes are at fault for the accident. The two cars reportedly have made attempts to stray from colliding into the two pocket bikes, as both bike occupants were not wearing lights or helmet at the time. The Antioch Police Department is still investigating further details of the accident.
