Things to Know About Accident Cases
When a motor vehicle collision leaves you injured or deprives your family of a close relative, the at-fault party may be held accountable through a claim for damages. This is generally accomplished through a personal injury claim or wrongful death action brought against the negligent party and their insurance carrier. Given that catastrophic and fatal accidents may result in significant losses for those affected, there may be concerns about whether there is enough liability insurance. In these scenarios, claimants may fall back on their uninsured and underinsured motorist coverage to cover their losses.
Even in the wake of a motor vehicle collision that caused serious injury or the loss of life, insurers will do everything in their power to pay the lowest amount possible on claims for damages. This is in the hopes of the claimants agreeing before they find out the actual value of their damages. Moreover, insurers may request recorded statements to use the claimant’s words against them to devalue or deny their claim. Retaining legal counsel is essential in these matters. Unlike the other side, an attorney will act quickly to protect your rights, seek justice, and ensure that you are rightfully compensated for your losses.
