Fresno DUI Accident Fatality
A Fresno DUI accident fatality occurred on January 18 along Blackstone and Clintstone Avenues. The driver of a pickup truck was reportedly speeding along Blackstone Avenue when the vehicle veered off the road and careened through a nearby parking lot. The pickup truck later struck a tree in the lot and came to a rest on its side after the impact. The driver allegedly fled the scene after the auto accident, leaving behind his injured passenger. Medical personnel were called to the scene to transport the passenger to a local hospital for immediate treatment. Sadly, the passenger was unable to overcome his injuries and passed away during hospitalization. Officials have identified the decedent as 58-year-old Avery Sharp of Clovis. The Fresno Police Department reported that the pickup truck driver was tracked down shortly after the car wreck. The driver, an 18-year-old Fresno man, has been arrested on charges of hit and run, felony driving under the influence, and vehicular manslaughter.
