Hayward Man Killed in Crash in Fremont
The Fremont Police Department has recently released details on a motor vehicle crash that killed a Hayward man on June 18, 2022. The car accident occurred at approximately 9:05 a.m. on Paseo Padre Parkway in the vicinity of Puttenham Way, according to a report by Fremont PD released approximately two weeks after the incident.
Details on the Crash in Fremont That Killed a Hayward Man
A preliminary report revealed that a Dodge Charger and a Honda Civic were both headed northbound on Paseo Padre Parkway. Both vehicles were said to have been traveling alongside one another. For unknown reasons, one of the cars allegedly swerved, causing both drivers to lose control of their vehicles.
The Honda veered over the center median, where it crashed into two cars that were traveling in the southbound lanes of Paseo Padre Parkway. The Dodge collided with a tree in the center median. Sadly, the Dodge driver succumbed to their injuries at the scene. The Alameda County Coroner’s Office has recently identified the decedent as Willie Ridley, 74, of Hayward.
Authorities indicated that no other party besides the Dodge driver sustained serious injuries. It was unclear why there was a delay in the release of information on the fatal car accident. Additional details on the incident were not immediately available due to an ongoing investigation.
