Head-On Collision Fatality in Turlock
According to the California Highway Patrol, a fatality occurred in a head-on collision along State Route 99 in Turlock on June 20, 2023. The car wreck happened around 3:15 a.m. on northbound SR-99 near Lander Avenue in Turlock, officials said.

A preliminary release revealed that a Tesla and a sedan were involved in a head-on collision on the northbound lanes of Highway 99 close to Lander Avenue in Turlock. The impact of the collision propelled the sedan, and it landed on its side, catching fire. Sadly, the driver of the sedan, 54-year-old Turlock resident Armando Beltran, suffered fatal injuries in the traffic crash.
The Tesla driver, a 37-year-old man from Escalon, was treated for serious injuries at an area hospital. The passenger in the Tesla, the driver’s 6-year-old son, was transported via air ambulance to Valley Children’s Hospital in Madera for treatment of injuries described as moderate. Additional information on the head-on collision fatality in Turlock was unavailable. CHP traffic officers are investigating the incident.
