What to Expect From a Head-On Collision Case

Among the catastrophic types of motor vehicle crashes are head-on collisions. These tend to cause serious injuries or even death due to blunt trauma from the force of impact and speed of the vehicles involved. In California, parties injured in crashes through no fault of their own may be entitled to financial compensation for their injuries and losses. Given the substantial losses involved in head-on collisions, an injured party may fall back on their uninsured and underinsured motorist coverage if the driver who caused the car wreck has limited to no auto insurance.

Even if liability is clear for a head-on collision, the personal injury claims process will not be easy to navigate. Insurance carriers, despite all their promises, are focused on protecting profit margins. They will accomplish that by paying the lowest amounts possible on claims. It is not uncommon for insurers to shift blame for the crash onto an injured party, dispute the severity of reported injuries, or claim that injuries are unrelated to the collision in an attempt to devalue or deny claims. It is crucial to level the playing field, and that starts with retaining experienced legal counsel.
