Causes of an Oroville Major Injury Crash Involving a Head-On
A head-on collision is an incredibly serious type of car accident involving two vehicles colliding with each other while moving in opposite directions. There are a variety of reasons that can lead to this type of collision, some of which include:
- People driving recklessly, like speeding, driving while under the influence of alcohol or drugs, not giving way to other drivers and being distracted behind the wheel can lead to an Oroville major injury crash.
- When bad weather shows up, like heavy rain, snow, fog or ice, it can be dangerous for a car to slide into the opposing lane.
- Mechanical failures such as brake failure or steering systems malfunctioning can cause a driver to lose control of their car and lead to an Oroville major injury crash. If a head-on collision is caused by a defect in the vehicle, there may be grounds for filing an auto product liability lawsuit. This is why it’s so important not to get rid of the car until after it has been examined.
- Driver fatigue, similar to driving while drunk, can reduce reaction time and lead to impaired judgment, making it more likely for a major injury crash.
- Animals on the road can cause drivers to swerve out of their lane unexpectedly and be involved in an Oroville major injury crash.
- Poor road maintenance, such as narrow shoulders, potholes or upheavals in the pavement, can contribute to this type of accident. If the government agency responsible for the maintenance of the road is at fault, an accident lawyer might be able to help with filing a claim – but since you only have six months to do so, it’s important not to wait too long.
