Motorcycle Accident Near San Joaquin County

Accident Details
The California Highway Patrol (CHP) responded to the scene of a motorcycle accident at approximately 2:30 pm. The crash occurred eastbound along Highway 26 near North Wimer Road. The two-lane highway had to be shut down in both directions for an hour due to a CHP investigation. Reports indicated that the motorcyclist collided head-on with an oncoming Ford F-250 pickup truck. The impact ejected the rider off the motorcycle and was propelled into the driver’s side area of the Ford. The Ford driver lost control and veered off the roadway. The Ford caught fire following the accident, requiring emergency personnel at the scene to render aid and assistance.
Nature of Injuries
The driver of the Ford suffered major head injuries and was transported to the San Joaquin General Hospital in French Camp for emergency medical treatment. The motorcyclist, unfortunately, passed away at the scene.
Identity of Victim
The San Joaquin County Coroner’s Office has released the identity of the motorcyclist as 21-year-old Nathaniel Floris of Brentwood.

The cause of the motorcycle accident is under investigation by the CHP. It can take anywhere from a week to 10 days for the investigating agency to release their report as to fault.
