Community Events in American Canyon
American Canyon residents enjoy a small, quiet community with close proximity to Napa wine country and the San Francisco Bay Area. However, residents don’t need to travel in order to find exciting events to attend. American Canyon hosts a wide variety of events. No matter what your tastes are, you are likely to find something you’ll enjoy. Listed below are only a few of the many fun events going on this month in American Canyon.
The American Canyon Farmer’s Market
The American Canyon Farmer’s Market offers residents of American Canyon the opportunity to go downtown to buy fresh, organic fruits and vegetables from local farmers at great prices. The American Canyon Farmer’s Market also includes a variety of craft vendors and a rotating list of performers to provide ambiance to the experience. Those wishing to experience what local farmers, craftspeople, and musicians have to offer can attend the event every Sunday, May through October, starting at 9 a.m. and ending at 1 p.m. at 100 Benton Way.
Night Under The Stars
Volunteers and American Canyon community members Steve Green, Terry England, and Rusty England will be hosting a free event at Kimberly park at which participants will have the opportunity to learn about astronomy. The event will include several telescopes through which attendees will be able to get an up-close view of the celestial bodies of the night sky. Participants will also be able to construct and launch their own paper LED-lit rockets and enjoy free hot chocolate. The event takes place on May 20, 2017, and begins at 8 p.m.
Watershed Moments: Nature’s Value
Although not in American Canyon proper, residents of American Canyon may be interested in attending this event hosted by the Watershed Information and Conservation Council in cooperation with Napa County Resource Conservation District. The event will bring together more than 150 stakeholders from local, state and federal natural resource agencies, nonprofit groups, and community organizations in order to discuss the future of water resource management for the people of Napa County. Presentations given at the conference will cover topics such as climate change, tracking the health of watersheds, groundwater usage, historical ecology, water quality, and more. The event will take place at Blue Note Napa on May 24, 2017, and starts at 8 a.m.
Library Book Sale
The American Canyon Library will be hosting a book sale in order to raise funds for its summer reading program and afternoon craft events. Only members of the library will be able to purchase books, but memberships are free to the public and only take a short while to sign up for. The sale is set to begin at the library at 2 p.m. on May 18, 2017.
We hope to see you out enjoying the lovely weather and American Canyon community events!
