Off-Road Crash on Dersch Road Causes Anderson Major Injury

An Anderson major injury was reported on July 15 when a vehicle exited the roadway for unknown reasons and struck a tree. The accident happened around 12:40 p.m. at Dersch Road and Lardanel Lane. According to California Highway Patrol (CHP) officers at the scene, the black Ford Edge was not blocking the roadway. It had exited the road and was about 20 feet away from Dersch Road.

Investigation Being Conducted Into Cause of Anderson Major Injury Crash

A tow truck was called to handle bringing the vehicle back up to the road. It was determined the driver had suffered major trauma. They were transported to a hospital for treatment. A determination of why the crash happened is underway by CHP traffic collision officers.

Off-Road Accidents and Causes of an Anderson Major Injury

When a vehicle veers off the road suddenly, it can be a confusing and unsettling event for all involved. While driver error is often to blame, there are numerous other factors that can lead to such incidents. Below are some of the causes behind unintentional departures from the roadway that lead to an Anderson major injury and may warrant the recovery of compensation:

  • Poor road conditions: Hazards such as potholes, weakened guardrails, road debris, or uneven pavement can lead to unexpected deviations from the road. The government body responsible for roadway maintenance could be held liable for injuries. However, since the time limit to file a government claim is just six months, contacting a lawyer promptly is crucial to meet the deadline.
  • Animals or objects on the roadway: Sudden appearances of animals or objects can cause drivers to swerve to avoid collisions. If the animal is livestock like a horse or cow, the owner may be liable for any resulting injuries.
  • Aggressive or hit-and-run drivers: Reckless behavior by other drivers can lead to off-road crashes. If the aggressive or hit-and-run driver is identified, they can be held financially responsible.
  • Mechanical failure: Faulty car parts or systems, such as malfunctioning brakes or steering issues, can cause sudden and unpredictable movements. Keeping the vehicle after an accident for defect inspection can be crucial. If a defect is identified as the cause of the off-road accident, an auto product liability claim can be filed to seek compensation.
