The Identification of Fleeing Drivers After a Hit-and-Run
Filing a compensation claim after an Antelope crosswalk accident is possible if the fleeing driver can be located. When injured by another motorist, recovery is difficult enough without facing mounting medical bills and other expenses. Medical bills, lost wages, and pain and suffering compensation should be paid by the party at fault for an accident.
In many cases, we have found drivers who fled an accident scene. Our methods for finding a hit-and-run driver include collecting evidence at the scene, checking surveillance cameras in the area, and interviewing witnesses. Our investigators leave no stone unturned to locate the driver, and we are successful in many cases.
Injuries to a Pedestrian Struck by a Vehicle
Pedestrian injuries are often severe and can lead to long-term consequences or disability. Common injuries include:
- Bone fractures may range from complex to severe with crush injuries.
- Traumatic head injuries are common in a pedestrian accident and can range from concussion to severe, with resulting cognitive impairment.
- Spinal cord damage causes temporary or permanent paralysis, the extent of which depends on where the break in the spine occurred.
- Internal trauma can include organ damage, which is life-threatening, and internal bleeding.
Injuries Caused by Accidents Can Be Covered by Insurance
California drivers can still recover compensation by using their uninsured-underinsured auto policy if the hit-and-run driver cannot be located after an Antelope crosswalk accident. This is if the driver is determined to not have the financial means to take them to court to recover the compensation. You are covered by your uninsured/underinsured policy whether you are a driver or passenger in a vehicle. You are also covered if you are injured by a hit-and-run driver or are a pedestrian, bicycle, or motorcycle rider.
If you do not have this additional auto policy, an alternative solution is available. If a family member already has this insurance coverage, you can utilize theirs without impacting their future policy rates.
