Atwater Train Accident
I’m Ed Smith, an Atwater personal injury attorney. A semi truck got stuck on railroad tracks on Tuesday, October 11, 2016. A train that was traveling down the tracks at the time struck the semi truck. Thankfully, there was no one injured in the following incident.
What Happened?
A semi truck’s trailer somehow got trapped on the tracks for a rail crossing at Applegate Road in Atwater. The incident caused traffic to back up at the railroad intersection since the train blocked the flow of traffic. According to officers from the Atwater Police Department, the collision occurred at noon when a speeding freight train crashed into the big rig. Fortunately, no one was hurt at the scene. The intersection was closed for hours to allow sufficient time for clean-up crews to safely secure the roadway and tracks.
