Auburn Man Loses Life in Solo-Vehicle Accident
On Wednesday, November 4, 2020, an Auburn man tragically lost his life during a local vehicle accident. The California Highway Patrol (CHP) reported that the collision happened in the morning just south of the city of Auburn and involved only a single passenger vehicle. Placer County Sheriff’s Office officials have not yet reported the decedent’s identity. Additionally, the decedent was the only person who suffered injuries during the collision.
Crash Information
The accident reportedly happened on Auburn Folsom Road near Powerhouse road just outside of city limits. Officers reported that a 30-year-old Auburn man was driving a 1997 Chevrolet pickup truck when, for unknown reasons, the vehicle swerved off-road. After the vehicle left the road, it drove a short distance before finally striking a nearby tree head-on, causing extreme damage to the truck.
After the crash was called into police, an emergency response team was rushed out to the scene. When responders reached the area, they discovered that the driver was still inside of his wrecked pickup truck. After he was extricated from the wreck, medical officials determined that he had been severely injured and had him rushed to an area hospital. Sadly, the driver passed away while in hospital custody.
Investigation
CHP officers have stated that they are currently conducting a full investigation into this crash in order to determine what factors could have been involved. So far, police have said that they do not suspect the driver to have been under the influence of any intoxicating substance. However, no likely factors have been confirmed by investigators.
The process of investigating deadly car accidents can be complicated, and, often, police aren’t able to uncover all of the evidence. This may happen because police aren’t able to interview the driver or because their investigation isn’t prioritizing things like defective car parts or roadway defects. To make sure that an accident is investigated to the fullest possible extent, the best thing you can do is to call a wrongful death lawyer in your area. An experienced attorney should be able to use their resources and skills to conduct their own investigation of the collision.
Wrongful Death Damages
A deadly accident can have devastating effects on families. Not only do families typically experience intense grief, but losing a loved one can also cause serious financial problems. Often, a sudden death in the household can also leave your family without an important source of income and/or valuable services. Without these, families may worry about how they will be able to afford to pay their bills or keep living their normal lives.
For these reasons, it’s important to reach out to an attorney who can help you file a wrongful death claim. By doing so, families can frequently obtain financial security after suffering traumatic losses.
