Fort Bragg is a well-known city along the Mendocino Coast of California. The small city is famous for the landmark known as Glass Beach, a beach with a shore that contains many colorful glass stones. What many people don’t know about Fort Bragg is that the city holds many other points of interest such as Noyo Headlands Park, the Skunk Train, and the Mendocino Coast Botanical Gardens. If you are planning on spending some time this month in Fort Bragg, make sure you don’t take this wonderful town for granted. Find activities to do, places to visit, and entertainment to indulge in. Historical Downtown Ft. Bragg Walking Tour

The Fort Bragg-Mendocino Coast Historical Society is offering monthly guided walks around Ft. Bragg’s very own historical business district. You will learn about the historic and rich commercial past of Ft. Bragg, the hidden link between the business district and the city’s military post, how the 1906 San Francisco earthquake impacted Ft. Bragg, and much more. The walk will kick off as the group departures from the Guest House Museum. The tour will be led by a docent.

Paul Bunyan Days: Gem, Mineral, & Fossil Show

The Mendocino Coast Gem & Mineral Society is back to host their annual show as it takes place over the Paul Bunyan Days. The show will be held at the center of town, making it easy for everyone to find. To give you a brief overview of the club organization, their primary focus is on collecting gems, rocks, and minerals, in addition to cutting stones. They continually sponsor the show to promote earth science education as well as lapidary arts and crafts.

The craft fair during the Paul Bunyan celebration will showcase many artistic mediums, including products such as pencil, pastels, charcoal, and watercolor. Additionally, there will be items made from wood, metal, copper. Stop by and find a special antique to bring home, or select one of the many handmade items to get as a gift for a loved one.
