Tea with SHE: The rise of the Female voice

SHE Studio presents an afternoon of sharing wisdom and hot tea on National Women’s Day. In honor of this nationally recognized day, there will be a prompt discussion on the increasing strength of the feminine voice in modern society. Further discussion will explore ways that women can channel their inner voice and use it to positively impact the current social and political climate. Tea with SHE is meant to be a safe space for open conversation, so feel free to stop by and share your input on what it means to be a woman today.
Art in the Moment

Combining art and mindfulness techniques allows one to simultaneously soothe and rejuvenate the body, mind, and soul. Art can be used to express grief or to awaken your inner sense of peace. This art workshop will be centralized around a painting, with an emphasis on Sumi and walnut ink. Participants will be led through a short meditation exercise before engaging in their artistic pursuits. All materials and instruction will be provided by Brushstrokes Studio Inc.
Bay Area Seed Swap

The Ecology Center, home to the Bay Area Seed Interchange Library (BASIL), is hosting the 19th annual seed swap celebration. There will be expert speakers on seed law and permaculture, professionals from local seed libraries, and a potluck dinner to kick it all off. Seeds have been gathered across the entire Bay Area region and they will all be up for grabs. Come to trade or even just to learn a few new things, and you can leave with an entirely new garden in your hands! Donations of $5 to $20 would be greatly appreciated, but no one will be turned down for having an empty wallet.
Virtual Reality – Maker Educator Meetup

Hands-on learning allows students to expand their body of knowledge while cultivating confidence in their innovative abilities. Maker Educators will be hosting this activity with free software, and all youth participants will be encouraged to create their very own virtual reality experience. There will be inspiring projects consisting of mazes, models, data visualization, and more. All attendants will have the chance to showcase their own talents while collaborating with other like-minded students.
