Suffered a Broken Arm?

You’ve broken your arm, it’s in a cast and you are suddenly feeling very restricted. Things you normally took for granted will suddenly be formidable or impossible to do.

Here are a few things you’ll likely have some problems doing:

  • Getting things done quickly. A broken arm will slow you down doing most everything. Allow twice as much time as you usually take for anything.
  • Doing anything without pain. Not likely to happen until 6 or 8 weeks go by.
  • Showering and Dressing will be very difficult.
  • Combing your hair
  • Sleeping
  • Scratching
  • Working

Those are just a few of the things you’ll need to deal with on a daily basis with a broken arm. Plan on 7-8 weeks until you start to function normally again.

So what can you do with a broken arm?

  • Stop Smoking. Smoking retards healing.
  • Use an electrical stimulator to advance healing.
  • I’d suggest catching up on movies or TV series you’ve always wanted to watch but didn’t have time for before.
  • Spend time with friends and people in your life you’ve neglected to spend time with.
  • Take a free course on www.Coursera.org, a wonderful site that can really change your life.

Here’s a good overview of various types of arm fractures and the issues you may encounter when dealing with them.
